All-Star Stunt Dog Challenge

Valleyfair

Valleyfair is the Upper Midwest's largest amusement park, offering endless fun and thrills with world-class rides, attractions and live entertainment.

This summer at Valleyfair, you can catch the world’s most talented dogs showing off crazy tricks in Galaxy Theatre! That’s right, Stunt Dog Productions is back and better than ever, bringing new stunts and lots of excitement to the park. And with a mission that’s as inspiring as their performances, you won’t want to miss these four-legged friends!

Stunt Dog Productions was founded on the mission of promoting pet adoption, educating people on the importance of spaying and neutering their pets and encouraging responsible pet ownership. The company started off small, with mostly local shows, but now the traveling dog show has performed all over the country, and has even made appearances on popular TV shows like The Ellen DeGeneres Show!

But even though the company has grown in the twenty years since it began, founders Chris and Suhey Perondi still stand by their original mission. Chris Perondi states that “dogs save lives, change lives and make lives better.” The Perondi’s adopted each one of their stunt dogs, and every show, they encourage their viewers to do the same. They make a powerful statement toward claims that shelter pets are harder to train and control than pets from a breeder. With the right affection and discipline, rescue dogs can be properly trained.

The Perondi’s feel so strongly about dog training that they wrote a book called “The Big Book of Tricks for the Best Dog Ever.” One of the stars of the show, Vinny Valentino, a talented Frisbee dog, got to accompany Chris Perondi on a book tour across the country this past year. The pair was even featured on Good Morning America, where Vinny got to show off his favorite tricks!

All thirteen of the Perondi’s stunt dogs are currently here at Valleyfair, including their most recent rescue, a Chihuahua puppy named Leo. While you won’t see Leo out on stage quite yet, you’ll get to see the rest of the crew in shows this summer! And you might even get to meet one of the pups after the show!

For the Perondi’s, the key to a good show is understanding that the dogs are pets before performers. The Stunt Dog Show is an ambitious performance with a lot of heart behind it. The Perondi’s agreed that the show and the dogs are their life, and seeing the audience’s smiles during the show is extremely rewarding for them. They hope to inspire people to adopt their pets and do more at home with their own dogs, whether that be with tricks or just by paying better attention to them.

The Stunt Dog Challenge is a performance that you won’t want to miss. Besides catching Frisbees, these all-star dogs can jump rope, balance on two paws and so much more! Come watch an outstanding performance and have some doggone fun at the Stunt Dog Challenge, now through August 18th.
