Valleyfair in-park shops got a Minnesota make-over this season! All new merchandise throughout the Plaza Shopper features state pride that will make you say “oh for cute!” The red flannel and wooden patterns are sure to excite your inner Paul Bunyan. Show everyone that you come from the land of big fun by sporting a Minnesota Valleyfair shirt or sipping your morning coffee in a Minnesota mug.
Artist Adam Turman created the designs for tea towels, glass wear, and many more unique items within the shops. His Minnesota themed paintings and prints are being sold in the Plaza Shopper. The artwork features lefse, lutefisk, and all of the quirky phrases that are frequently used in the land of 10,000 lakes.
According to Sophie Horgan, Valleyfair’s Merchandise Manager, the new products have been extremely successful; especially their most popular item, a crewneck sweatshirt with a red and black plaid outline of Minnesota.
“The goal this year was to stick to our roots as Minnesota’s Theme Park, which is why we have chosen a local shop, Lake Shirts, to produce our high-quality long sleeve shirts,” Sophie said, “The Plaza Shopper was the obvious location for the new merchandise because of the natural wood walls and Minnesota aesthetics.”
The Valleyfair team started working towards this moment since September of last year and managed to have the shop ready a week before opening day. The team even traveled to Las Vegas to view artwork and trends to make sure everything was perfect! It’s been a lot of work in the making, and it all seems to have paid off.
