Chaperone Policy
NOTICE TO PARENTS AND GUARDIANS: TEENS/CHILDREN
Parents or guardians are responsible for the behavior of their minor children. Appropriate behavior and supervision are the responsibility of the parent/guardian and is always expected. All minors must be accompanied by an adult.
The safety of our guests and associates has always been our top priority at Valleyfair. In response to the increasing incidents of unruly and inappropriate behavior across our industry and at other major entertainment venues, we are taking proactive steps to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone.
We are committed to maintaining Valleyfair as a place where families and friends can come together to enjoy a one-of-a-kind park full of fun experiences and immersive entertainment.
As part of that commitment, we are implementing a chaperone policy beginning Saturday, September 20, 2025.
Under this policy, all guests ages 15 years old or younger must be accompanied by a chaperone who is at least 21 years old to be admitted to or remain in the park. The policy will be in effect daily by 2:00 p.m. local time – Valleyfair reserves the right to begin enforcing the Chaperone Policy earlier on any given day.
The chaperone must present a valid government-issued photo identification with date of birth at the Security Entrance. One (1) chaperone may accompany no more than five (5) guests ages 15 or younger per day. In addition, the chaperone must remain with their party during their visit and be available by phone throughout their stay.
Guests 16 years of age or older may be asked to present a valid government issued photo identification (Driver’s license, State Issued ID Card, Passport) with date of birth at entry to verify their age. If unable to verify proof of age, guests may be denied entry into the park.
Chaperones must present a valid government-issued photo ID with date of birth.
Digital / Pictures of IDs are not accepted.
Guests aged 15 years old or younger who are found inside the park unaccompanied by a chaperone when the Chaperone Policy is in effect will be subject to ejection. This chaperone requirement applies to all Valleyfair ticket and season passholders.
We believe these changes will help ensure that Valleyfair continues to have a positive atmosphere where generations of families and friends can gather for a day of safe fun and good food. Millions of guests have counted on us for exactly that, and we will continue to deliver on that promise for generations to come.
Mask Policy
- Masks are prohibited in the park and may not be worn as part of any costume.
- Exception: Children 10 and under may wear masks during daytime operations as part of kid-focused events in designated areas. No masks are permitted past 5:00 p.m.
- No masks will be permitted on any ride at any time.
ValleyScare is no longer separately ticketed from daytime operation of Valleyfair. Guests can enjoy a full day of fall thrills—including Tricks and Treats—plus nighttime scares during ValleyScare with just one ticket or valid Gold or Prestige Pass. Guests will no longer need to leave and re-enter the park with the start of ValleyScare. However, to access haunted mazes, guests will now need to purchase a Haunted Attractions Pass.
This change reflects an exciting new evolution in the event. The Haunted Attractions Pass allows us to deliver more intense scares and better manage guest flow. This way, those who want the full terror experience can enjoy it at its peak, while other guests can still enjoy everything else the park offers.
Whether you’re using a daily ticket, Gold Pass, or Prestige Pass, your admission includes:
• Access to more than 50 world-class rides and coasters
• All Tricks and Treats daytime activities and shows
• Scare zones and live shows during ValleyScare
(Note: Haunted mazes require a separate Haunted Attractions Pass.)
You’ll still have access to:
• More than 50 rides and coasters operating at night
• All scare zones across the park
• Live Halloween shows
Only haunted mazes require an additional fee.
