ICYMI: Valleyfair has Awesome New Food this Season
May 21, 2019We know you’ve been waiting all year to get your hands on our delectable fair food, so you’re in luck! The wait is finally over. Get ready to eat, devour and savor at Valleyfair this season! We have so many new food and drink items debuting at locations all over the park. In fact, almost every location at Valleyfair will be serving up something new. Enjoy our unique new menu items and make sure to wear your stretchy pants because you’re going to want to try them all.
First, we have the gluten-free Hash Brown Burger! This fan favorite is made up of bacon, melted cheese, a juicy burger, and creamy hollandaise sauce all sandwiched between two crispy hash browns. Mouth watering yet? You can snag this from Coasters!

Next we have the Flaming Hot Cheetos Deep-Fried Pickle on a Stick! The name about sums it up, but it doesn’t begin to describe how delicious it is! Who would have ever thought Hot Cheetos and pickles could pair so well?! Find this new delicacy at Wild Thing Pronto Pup for just $4.99!
Let your problems melt away with one of the coolest, unique and most colorful additions; our many new flavors of cotton candy! Not only is the Cotton Candy building renovated, but now we also offer heavenly flavors, a range of toppings and glow in the dark cotton candy wands to make for the perfect Instagrammable moment. Some of our new flavors include Birthday Cake, Orange Cream, Cookie-n-Cream, S’mores and Grape Sizzle (complete with grape-flavored Pop Rocks)!
Have a fiesta at El Taco Mercado with our new Gourmet Tacos! “There’s the MN Taco, which is essentially the “traditional” taco that Mom made for family dinner growing up with ground beef, shredded cheese, lettuce, and tomato. Then there’s the Al Pastor (my personal favorite), with juicy carnitas cooked on a vertical broiler and topped with green salsa, white onion, and cotija. Finally, there’s the new Fire Roasted Chicken taco—topped with corn, salsa, and queso—which was a close second.” –Katelyn Bloomquist, Minnesota Monthly. Who let the (hot) dogs out? Route 76 Refreshments! Enjoy our new specialty hot dogs including the Giardiniera Dog, Cubano Dog and the Lobster Mac n Cheese Dog! That’s right, a lobster mac n cheese topped hot dog.
Not to be corny but the Roasted Elote is another new favorite menu item to be popping up at Valleyfair! The Elote takes an ear of corn, tops it with queso fresco, sprinkles it with chili powder, and then drenches it in a lime aioli. Plus, at only $4.99, you’ll be begging for more! ”When considering the flavor to price ratio of this dish, it’s a steal. We already know you can’t go wrong with roasted corn, but Valleyfair’s version of the Mexican delicacy is no exception.” –Katelyn Bloomquist, Minnesota Monthly. Get it at Corn Cart!
We’re doing our own take on chicken and waffles! Enjoy our new ice-cream inspired Chicken and Waffles Cone! A cone filled with crispy chicken, creamy gravy and fluffy mashed potatoes to make the perfect meal! This puppy will be served on a rotating menu out of the Taste of Valleyfair Food Truck which will be wandering the park this season. That just means you will have to come back multiple times to make sure you are here on Chicken and Waffle Cone day.
Not only did we introduce the most delicious food, but also drinks you simply can’t resist! Valleyfair Rum Punch with Tattersall Barrel Select Rum is served at Depot Refreshment and Breakers Bay Bar! “This, delightfully, is that rare occasion when neither the Kool-aid nor Hawaiian Punch cartoon characters come to mind at first sip. It’s tart and light rather than sweet and syrupy -- dare we say it’s the perfect wave pool refreshment” – Sarah Brumble, City Pages.
Last but certainly not least is the Underwood Can Wine. Served at Depot Refreshment, Atomic Bar, Chickie’s & Pete’s, El Taco Mercado, and Breakers Bay Bar, you can enjoy your wine served in an aluminum can instead of glass! These Oregon-based wine selections include Pinot Gris, Rosé, and “The Bubbles”—a wine with ripe citrus, tropical fruit, and white flower flavors.
These were just the beginning of all the new awesome food and drink options. There is many more including Mama Chetta’s dessert pizza with a cinnamon sugar crust, Nutella and crushed Oreos, as well as rosé-inspired lager, +1, the pale ale Xtra-Citra, or their famous IPA called Furious from Surly Brewing company! You won’t want to miss out on these funky, yet delicious, new menu items. We can’t wait for you to try them all!
