Valleyfair Cares: A Kid Again Adventure!

Valleyfair Cares is dedicated to giving back to our community with a focus on children/families in need, Shakopee/Scott County community, students and education, the environment, veterans and first responders, and causes our associates believe in. Through Valleyfair Cares, we build not only partnerships but valued relationships with nonprofit organizations and charities to help aid them toward their mission.
Valleyfair (as well as our parent company, Six Flags Entertainment Corporation) has a strong, longstanding partnership with the nonprofit organization, A Kid Again. A Kid Again is an organization that has made it their mission to “foster hope, happiness, and healing for children with life-threatening conditions and their families.”
Founded in 1995, A Kid Again supports nearly 6,000 families across all 50 states and recently has established a staffed market in Minnesota. With efforts to bring moments of positivity into the families impacted, A Kid Again provides, “year-round fun-filled adventures that allow children with life-threating conditions to feel like A Kid Again.” To show our profound support, Valleyfair Cares wanted to give families within the A Kid Again organization a day to remember at Valleyfair Amusement Park.
In efforts to give families the best day ever, Valleyfair hosted our third annual Adventure for A Kid Again on Friday, July 12, 2024. Through this event, Valleyfair donated 800 tickets (last year we had 600 attend!) to the park to be dispersed to families in the area through A Kid Again.
This Adventure Day also included the donation of a catered meal at Picnic Point and Refresh and Relax area, all-day drink wristbands for guests, and even a chance to meet Snoopy and Sally, compliments of Valleyfair Cares.
Our maintenance team also wanted to bring a little something special to this event. Nick Ungaro, our Ride Maintenance Supervisor put together a Show and Tell table with coaster wheels and other ride parts for the kids to pick up and hold and he also stayed and answered questions about his job and the rides he gets to work on.
Valleyfair Cares wants to acknowledge the phenomenal work A Kid Again does for such a large community of people going through difficult times. We hope to give families a day to forget about their hard medical journey and enjoy the attractions Valleyfair and Soak City Waterpark has to offer.
