Valleyfair Adopts a Highway!

One of Valleyfair's charitable commitments through Valleyfair Cares is to help ensure our environment is taken care of for generations to come.
This year, we discovered a portion of US-Highway 169 just south of Highway 13 that many of our guests use to come visit use, was up for a new sponsorship through the Adopt a Highway volunteer program by the Minnesota Department of Transportation. Valleyfair enthusiastically decided this was going to be our highway to adopt!
The weekend after we opened, fifteen associates embarked on a two day clean up mission!
In that time, we picked up 34 bags of trash on the first day and 20 bags on the second day, along with many larger items too big to fit in bags.
We also made a few friends along the way.
Our plan is to clean up the highway at least twice per year and as needed throughout the two year commitment.
