Valleyfair's Top 5 Lists for our Littlest Guests

It can be tough trying to pack in everything there is to do at Valleyfair. It can also feel pretty overwhelming with so many options and such a large park footprint. To give you an idea of where to begin, we put together a few top 5 lists for those under 6 to help you plan your Best Day Ever for your littlest kids.

Top 5 Games

A trip to Valleyfair isn’t the same without winning a prize from our games area—and we have some GREAT prizes! Some of our games offer a “Winner Every Time” format, which certainly helps keep tantrums at bay. Check out our favorite games for the younger set:

  1. Winner’s Wheel: This is located right outside of Planet Snoopy and is a ‘Winner Every Time’ game. It’s easy: spin the wheel—see which prize you win! This is a great way to kick off your trek to Midway Games as it starts the day on an up note.
  2. Hi-Test Arcade: Between Winner’s Wheel and Midway Games, we have our Hi-Test Arcade, complete with tickets to turn in for prizes at the end. This is a great stop to get a break from the sun while keeping the fun going. Plus: it's air-conditioned!
  3. Duck Pond: This is a brand-new game in our Planet Snoopy area that again, offers a “Winner Every Time” strategy. Pick a duck and see what you win!
  4. Top Glo: Get the whole family involved with this water gun race game (parental assistance may be needed). Shoot the water jet into the target—the first one to the top, wins a prize! This was our top favorite game as well for 2023!
  5. Whac-a-Mole: This long-time favorite never gets old. Play against others—the first player to hit 15 moles wins a prize!

Honorable Mentions: If your kiddo wants to win even more prizes, check out the Goblet Toss, Mini-Basketball, and Ring Toss games!

Top 5 Attractions

Between Planet Snoopy and Soak City, not to mention the various family rides throughout the entire park, there is a LOT one could do that would take multiple visits (this is why both of our season passes with their 2 free Pre-K Passes is a huge deal!). To keep walking distance to a minimum, we recommend prioritizing Planet Snoopy and Soak City as the two are close by and packed with fun for this age set.

Here are our top 5 attractions that are absolute MUSTS for the under 6 crowd.

  1. Cosmic Coaster: The perfect coaster for those thrillsters in training! Parents can ride this ride with their little one as it zips around twisty turns.
  2. Barefoot Beach and Splash Station: These two must-play attractions in Soak City are the perfect place for splish-splashing fun while you get some relaxing sunbathing in.
    • Pro tip: Reserve one of our Cabanas located around Barefoot Beach for a bit of shade and poolside service!
  3. Linus’ Beetle Bugs: There is no minimum height restriction, so this ride is truly one for any Pre-K kid and provides perfectly Instagrammable moments.
  4. Peanuts™ 500: This zippy car ride offers squeals of delight as it whizzes around the track ends! This is a great one for parents to ride in as well so you too can enjoy their squeals of delight!
  5. Peanuts™ Playhouse: Beat the heat and relax in some air-conditioning while your kids blast foam balls and toy cannons. This is conveniently located right in Planet Snoopy!

Honorable Mentions: If walking distance isn’t an issue, we also recommend trying out the Carousel (located near the entrance of the park), Antique Autos, and the Minnesota River Valley Railroad. All of these also offer wonderful memory making with the grand kids!

Top 5 Food Spots

Nothing kills the fun faster like tummy rumblings, so be sure to keep those mouths fed! Of course, with all of this thrilling fun, you want to be careful to not cause an upset stomach. This is why we offer many convenient locations around the park for perfect-sized bites for youngsters.

  1. Planet Snoopy Grill: The kids menu takes center stage as all of the bites located here are curated for little taste buds. From burgers and hot dogs to chicken tenders, fuel up for the day here! Need just a cool treat? Dippin' Dots is just a little trot down the midway.
  2. Coasters: Looking for a place to have a sit down meal between Planet Snoopy and Midway Games? Coasters offers both indoor and outdoor seating and a wide menu that offers full meals as well as milk shakes! Pro tip: Don’t want to wait in line? Order ahead of time on our mobile app and pick it up when its ready!
  3. Beach Bites: Playing in the water works up an appetite fast and Soak City has many options. For something more substantial, check out Beach Bites.  Maybe mom, you are looking for a margarita to really bring the beach vibes—check out Breakers Bay Bar where we have a variety of tropical mixed drinks and brews!
  4. Lucky Loon KitchenOur brand-new dining experience offers a wide menu of fresh, seasonal, and healthy options, including gluten-free and vegetarian/vegan options!
  5. Superior Funnel Cake Co.When you are all done with the rides and want to top off your trip with the cherry on top—check out our brand new dessert building—Superior Funnel Cake Co., your place for specialty funnel cake flavors!

This is just a tiny snapshot of what is available to kids under 6 at Minnesota’s favorite amusement park. Upgrade your life with a Gold or Silver Pass and get two FREE Pre-K passes. It pays for itself in only two visits. And trust us, you and your kids will want to make this your regular spot this summer!
