When you participate in our youth programs or student field trips, Valleyfair becomes your own interactive, state-of-the-art classroom (and the ultimate playground for after class). We’ve worked with leading educators and subject-matter experts to offer the best in content and impact for student learning at all grades and levels. We make learning FUN! Here are just a few of our favorite programs your students can be a part of this summer:

Education Days

Mon – Fri, May 15 – June 12, 2020

Doubling as an outdoor classroom, Valleyfair brings learning to life. Education Days provides students with an opportunity to gain a greater understanding of science, engineering, mathematics, and more in a unique learning environment that is interactive and fun. Education Days curriculum has been carefully designed by teachers for teachers to align with Minnesota Science and STEM Academic Standards as well as National Science Standards.

Get here early because exclusive ride time for schools begins at 9:30 AM during Education Days!

Physics and Science Days

May 15, 20 & 27, 2020

If Sir Isaac Newton were alive today, we’re pretty sure he would sign off on a physics class field trip to Valleyfair. As a renowned scientist credited with many physics principles we follow today, he would know that an innovative – and totally fun – way to demonstrate the science that deals with matter, energy, motion and force is a modern-day roller coaster. We sure have plenty of those at Valleyfair, so bring your students to participate in our specially designed physics and science educational activities.

We’ve collaborated with leading teachers and consultants to develop activities and downloadable packets that can be used as a resource guide or modified to meet your current teaching requirements.

Marketing Day

May 21, 2020

“What does it take to sell FUN? It’s not as easy as it may seem, so bring your students to Valleyfair's Marketing Day to learn from some of the industry’s best marketing professionals. At this sales and marketing workshop, students will learn the ins and outs of developing and executing an intricate and complex marketing campaign. Topics may include: defining the product; selecting target groups; planning advertising strategies with radio, television, digital, out-of-home and direct mail; executing in-park marketing strategies; planning special events; initiating group sales and much more. Students can interact with a panel of special guests who will share their insights and give tips on how to prepare for a rewarding career in this dynamic field.”

Engineering Day

May 21, 2020

We see the cars flying on the tracks, zipping around hairpin curves and inverting guests at mind-boggling speeds. We feel the wind in our hair and lumps in our stomachs when we plunge down a dizzying freefall. We know the effects of Valleyfair’s epic thrill rides, but really, how do roller coasters work? What kind of science, math and mega-extreme logistics go into world-class thrill rides? Come to Engineering Day, an interactive event dedicated to engineering for students, so they can get up close and personal with science on a grand scale (and we mean GRAND, as in Power Tower-style humongous). Students will learn from industry professionals how Valleyfair uses technology and human tendencies to build a park suitable for thousands of guests each day.

Afterward, students will experience this engineering firsthand with a great day at the park. Combine that with a catered meal and you’ve engineered a full day of success!

The program begins at 10:30 AM.

NEW FOR 2020! Construct-a-Coaster Project

Think you have what it takes to build the perfect rollercoaster for Valleyfair? Put your engineering skills and creativity to the test with this new project we’re debuting in conjunction with Engineering Day! Coasters must be built in advance and presented at Engineering Day where they will be judged by a panel on Technical Merit, Theme and Creativity, and Rider Enjoyment.

Check back later for more details.

Space is limited, make sure to reserve your spot today!

Career Day

May 22, 2020

Did you ever think a horticulturist could work in a theme park? How about an automotive mechanic? A wide variety of professions are required to make Valleyfair operate each day, many of which you'd never think would work in a theme park. At Career Day, students can learn which career fields are possible in this industry. Guest speakers with vocational training will explain how their role contributes to the success of Valleyfair and where they focused in school to help guide them in their careers.
